We cannot wait to get started on our first topic, learning about rainforests, specifically the Amazon Rainforest in South America. Our main focus are to learn where in the world rainforests can be found, the climate, the challenges that rainforests and their inhabitants face and to learn about the huge variety of plants and animals which can be found in these amazing places. We will use this learning to create our very own non chronological report including impersonal language, pictures, captions and great facts too.
In Science we will investigate habitats, not just the distant rainforests but those which are a little closer to home too. Towards the end of the half term we will enhance the children's learning by visiting Brandon Marsh, allowing the children to get up close to a variety of habitats for themselves.
Also this half term, Year Three will prepare and present a Harvest celebration to the school and parents/carers will be invited to come along too, we hope you can make it.
Take a look at the following weblinks to learn a little more about rainforests!
