Bridgetown Primary School

Ready, Respectful, Safe

Volunteers

Bridgetown Primary School is grateful to members of the school community who volunteer their time to benefit our pupils.

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff & volunteers to share this commitment.

If you are interested in volunteering, there are a number of ways that you can be involved:

Friends of Bridgetown School (FOBS) - our extremely active Parent Teacher Association

Join the committee to help plan and run events, write grant requests, set up community links or register an interest to support at specific events.  Please see the FOBS page of our website for more information: https://www.bridgetown.warwickshire.sch.uk/friends-of-bridgetown-school-fobs/

School Trips and Events

Support teaching teams by accompanying children on school trips or by helping with special events planned for year groups.  Please let the office, or teaching team know if you are able to support.

Specialist Expertise and Support

We would greatly appreciate input from members of our school community with particular expertise in specialist areas such as science, technology, engineering and maths.  This could include one-off inspirational visits, input to our planning , provision of newsletters or supporting clubs.

We can also support businesses in meeting their Corporate Social Responsibility targets by working with a local primary school.  Do contact us via the school office to explore how you could be involved.

Class Volunteers

Volunteer with a class or year group to listen to pupils read, or to support a particular activity with individual, or a small group of pupils, each week.  Please contact the office to express an interest or to find out more information.  Alternatively, a volunteer application form is attached below if you wish to apply to be a class volunteer.  Please complete and return to the office at admin2053@welearn365.com.

Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. Posts are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure.

Due to the safeguarding and induction process involved for class volunteers, we do ask that those volunteering are able to commit to volunteering on a regular basis.   There will be forms to complete, policies to read and understand and checks to undertake.  We hope that our volunteers understand the need for these measures to protect our children.

Thank you to our volunteers who do so much to help support our school community, even during the pandemic when we were unable to welcome volunteers into school.  See our attached Volunteer newsletter to mark Volunteer week at the beginning of June 2021.
