Home Learning Week Beginning 22nd June

Hello Year 2, we hope you've had a good week. What a great response we've had to Aliens in Underpants Save the World! We're glad you're enjoying our book focus this half term.

This week, we're back to traditional tales, with our story focus being Jack and the Beanstalk. I'm sure this is a story that lots of you are familiar with. We've put a link to an online ebook of the story in the resources below. You should be able to access this link from home. If not, you could use the PowerPoint below as an alternative to read the story. Traditional tales are often a lot of fun to act out, so don't shy away from performing the story!

Maths this week is focused on measuring length, using White Rose online Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and Mathletics on Tuesday and Thursday. As always, there are additional activities using objects around your house if you would like to try learning away from the screen. The suggested activities and White Rose worksheets can be found below. We did look at measurement in the second week of home learning, but it's always useful to recap. We didn't get a chance to teach this in school so its well worth looking at measurement again. If your child is feeling confident, talk about millimetres and metres with your child too.

We've updated our 'what the Year 2 staff have been up to' page, so do take a look to see what's been keeping us busy this week!

Staff are gradually increasing their time in school, so we may be a little slower to respond to emails, but we will always aim to reply within 2 working days. Please do get in touch if you have any questions or queries.

Best wishes,

Year 2 Team
