Home Learning Week Beginning 1st June

Welcome Back Year 2!

Hello Swallows and Kingfishers! Welcome back to the final Summer Term. We hope you have all managed to have a well earned rest and break from home learning over half term, you deserved it.

We are back for our final term of Year 2. This half term, we don't have a topic focus (such as pirates or Florence Nightingale). Instead, each week will have a book focus, with fun English and Topic activities planned around the book. This week, it's The Snail and The Whale by Julia Donaldson! If you haven't got a copy of the book at home, please don't worry. The BBC TV adaptation of this story was on over Christmas and can be found on BBC iPlayer. You can also read/listen to the story on Youtube (Links will take you to videos). We hope you enjoy the extra activities based around this book too.

Your reading books will continue to be changed on ActiveLearn, so look out for new books this week on your changing day.

Maths learning will continue in the same way, with White Rose on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and Mathletics set on Tuesdays and Thursday. We've also put together some paper activities if it is difficult to access the online content.

We've also created a daily and weekly timetable, which might help you to structure your day. This is for you to use should you find it helpful. We know lots of your have great routines already at home.

We are sad not to be in school with you this Monday. We can't wait for the day when we see your smiling faces in the playground. Until then, we know that you will continue to work hard and be helpful at home.

Take care, and don't hesitate to get in touch via email at year2bps@welearn365.com. We'll be back checking these emails from Monday 1st June.

Best wishes,

Mrs Bowen, Mrs Bishop and Mrs Smith
