Home Learning Summer Term 2 Week 3

Good morning Puffins and Goldfinches, 

We hope you have all had a good week.  Did you enjoy the storytelling of Rama and Sita? We are looking forward to seeing some of your examples of your version of the story. We are very impressed with all your efforts in the battle between the Puffins and the Goldfinches!  The Goldfinches have been ahead most of the week, but at the time of writing this email, the Puffins have overtaken them, but only just! It is incredibly close so watch this space.  Well done to every one involved, there are some very high scorers and we will email the certificates for the top 3 in each class next week. 

In maths this week we are looking at the 3,4 and 8 times tables, as well as the written formal method for multiplication.  We thought it would be beneficial to revisit these topics and there are lots of practical activities for you to enjoy.  

The English lessons are based on an animation this week, called The Present.  We will be looking at different viewpoints and working towards writing a fact file about how to care for a dog.  There are many resources attached for this but please remember that it is not necessary to print the resources, you can copy them on paper.  

Next week is Refugee Week 2020.  We would like you to go through the attached PowerPoint which explains what a refugee is. There is also a link to a website which looks at Simple Acts that can all be done at home.  Simple Acts are every day actions we can do to stand with refugees and make new connections in our communities. 

Don't forget that we are still climbing the large mountains in the Bridgetown Mountain Challenge!  The link is on our website, we have now conquered  Mount Kilimanjaro and are well on our way on our last one, the highest mountain in the world, Mount Everest!
