Autumn 1
This half term our topic is:
Happily Ever After
What we have been learning in Autumn 1
Week beginning 21.09.26 & 28.09.26
Year 1 have been busy bees the last two weeks! We enjoyed a fantastic Creeping Toad storytelling workshop, where we were immersed in exciting objects, imaginative tales and magical story-time adventures. In Science, we have been learning about different animal habitats where we discovered that creatures live in environments specially suited to their needs. We also became bird experts, learning to name and identify a variety of common birds, and we explored the fascinating life cycle of a frog from egg to adult. To bring our learning to life, we designed and created our own fabulous woodland and pond habitats, showcasing our creativity and knowledge of the natural world. ????????
Week beginning 07.09.26 & 14.09.26
Life in class has been very busy these last 2 weeks! We are now running a full timetable of Phonics, Handwriting, Maths, English (Drawing Club), PE, Guided Reading, Mastering Number, Fluent in Five, Forest School, RE and our DImension's lessons - this may explain why your children are coming home so tired!! Luckily, they still have time for provision each day where they can choose their own learning.
Week beginning 31.08.26
Wow what a great first few days back! We have had a lovely time getting to know each other and exploring our new classroom areas. We have played games, spent time in provision doing a variety of different activities and outside in our new Writing Garden with our Story Telling Chair, Writing Shed but most of all posting our letters in the real postbox! There have already been a few letters to Father Christmas! The Construction area has also been a popular hotspot for some collaborative building. We are all looking forward to seeing everyone back on Monday for our first 'proper' week!
