This is the song we have been singing when we have been looking at the chicks in the incubator... (it's really good for working out one more / less and ways to make 5). Click the play button above to sing along....

Watching the chicks...

During the Easter holidays some of the teachers and teaching assistants (and lunchtime supervisors!) took it in turns to watch, feed and clean the chicks... click on the link to look at their photographs...
Time to say goodbye...

Sadly, on Wednesday 31st March, it was time to say goodbye to our chicks as Alison from chickenkeeper.co.uk came to take them back to her farm.
She told us lots more about how the chicks grow and even how to tell if they are cockerels or hens (looks like Chas might be Charlene as we had 3 cockerels and 2 hens!)
Spot the difference?

The hen on the left has longer, thinner legs and slender toes. The cockerel on the right has shorter, stubby legs and wide toes!

And off they go.... check out Alison's numberplate!
